2) Malo is an extremely dangerous marine protist that can cause immense harm with its venomous tentacles.  Even so, they are readily preyed on by tough-skinned, and or poison-resistant animals, such as turtles and placoderms.  Very powerful malo can access water-based magic and cast various death spells.

3) Virovirex is a peculiar, pond and sewer dwelling protist that can weaken the physical defenses of its opponents.  The Virovirex is infamous for its persistence and regenerative powers, as it can regenerate itself several times if slain.  Unsurprisingly, it can cast poison spells.

4) Flan is a sweet-smelling protist that lives in caverns.  They rely on their caramel odor, and their marzipan strawberry decoys to lure prey within striking range.  Their digestive enzymes can lower the resistances of their prey.  Flan can also cast healing magic, and can be trained to use it on other beings besides themselves.
