Infectitherium Strain I

Infectitherium Strain 1 is one of several strains of dangerous, infectious protists created by the now-extinct Yig to serve as living weapons against their hated enemies, the Pokuni-Ag. The Infectitherium strains also wound up being the primary instruments of their creators' own demise.

The horse-sized Strain 1 tend to parasitize noticeably smaller protists, living folded neatly and petitely inside their host's body, leaching their host's lifeforce away until forced to find a new host. Strain 1 behave aggressively when outside of a host, and react with extreme hostility toward any perceived threat. If threatened, an individual will regurgitate pain-inducing venom and corrosive digestive enzymes (which, strangely are never used in conjunction with feeding) until the individual feels the threat has been pacified and or killed.
