Pangasius indicus is a catfish from the Eocene strata of the Padang Highlands of Sumatra. The catfish of Pangasius are still extant today, though, while enough of the fossil specimen of P. indicus is known to show that it was an especially short and stout species, not enough is known to tell what it ate.
The consistency of the fish helps keep your eye on the whole composition very nicely. The subtle changes on each fish also leaves you in a trance to find what is different. The bottom fish first catches my eye first, but the transition from fish to fish is done very naturally by having the fins point up.
I think this would be improved if you brought some more detail to the scales or skin. That of if you gave some tonal variety to stay attracted to the fish in a whole sense.
A suggestion that I think would look good is if you had a pattern continually running through all the fish, to show unity and seperation.
I enjoy the simple clean lines of the composition. The diagonal arrangement of the composition caught my eye and the somewhat asymmetric arrangement of the fish was interesting. While the subject is interesting, crop on the image is somewhat distracting. I find the apparent juxtaposition of a dolphin and catfish amusing, but I would have preferred more space between the subject and the edge of the page. The image brings to life the dusty fossil on the shelf with an amusing personal touch. As usual, I love the vision of a world with such an interesting bestiary, I eagerly await the color version.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
