Description
Rhamphosuchus crassidens was an extinct gharial from the Miocene and Pliocene of India. From its fragmentary remains, it is believed that it was twice as long as the modern day gharial, Gavialis gangeticus, making R. crassidens a 12 meter long horror that resembled a thin-snouted Sarcosuchus imperator.
Two Ganges river dolphins, Platanista gangetica gangetic, have been placed with R. crassidens for size comparison.
