The sponges of genus Siphonia, and their relatives, were a successful group of stalked sponges that lived from the Cretaceous through the Eocene. Their greatest diversity was in the Western Tethys Ocean during the Cretaceous.

Hallirhoa costata,
S. pyriformis


Les éponges du genre Siphonia, et leurs parents, étaient un groupe réussi d'éponges égrappées qui ont vécu du crétacé par l'Eocene. Leur plus grande diversité était dans l'océan occidental de Tethys pendant le crétacé.
