Reconstruction of the gigantic, 40-foot long iguanid, Behemosaurus cedarurus, of Late Miocene Amazonia, Brazil. Perhaps one-half to two-thirds of the total body length was its spiked tail. A pair of hydrochoerid caviids watch the beast from the foreground.
