Name: Antarctic Star Tuna
Species: Astrothunnus antarcticus
Length: 2 - 3 meters
Notes: Star tuna, such as A. antarcticus, are luminescent predators found in the Antarctic Ocean, where they feed on smaller fish, and communicate to each other with their luminescent organs. Because they have such large, sensitive eyes, they do not tolerate bright light, and retreat from the surface to depths of 1000 meters during the summer months.

Species: Charybdipaederus gigas
Length: 8 meters
Notes: The Giant Charybdis is the best-known of an otherwise poorly studied genus of thunniform fish. The beast depicted here is a male, as only the males of the genus possess the spine-like dorsal fin, which females bite onto during spawning season.
The huge, spear-like nose is believed to be utilized in hunting, allowing it to stun fish caught in its wake as it swims through schools of prey.

Species: Typhlothunnus seriolaoides
Length: 1 - 3 meters
Note: The Eyeless Jack, along with all other members of Typhlothunnus, are blind relatives of star tuna endemic to the Antarctic Ocean. They find their prey through a combination of smell, hearing, and sensing vibrations.
