Description

Tridenticeras was a genus of auger shell-shaped heteromorph ammonite closely related to the identically shaped genus Turrilites. The primary difference between Tridenticeras and Turrilites was that the ornamentation of Turrilites gave the shells a "ribbed" appearance, whereas in Tridenticeras, the ornamentation made for a more "banded" appearance.

Also, Turrilites is found throughout the world in the late Middle to middle Late Cretaceous, whereas Tridenticeras was almost exclusively found only in Conacian epoch strata of France.
