Vendians 3

It's come to my attention that Australian Precambrian experts, and some of their American counterparts prefer the term "Ediacaran" to refer to various Precambrian organisms, while Russian Precambrian experts prefer the term "Vendian," instead.

Given as how the fossils of these particular proarticulatans are found along the shores of the White Sea in Russia, I'll stick with "Vendian" for now.

Various proarticulatans: some proarticulatans left distinctive trails in the forms of body impressions formed by feeding on bacterial films on the surface of the substrate. It's strongly suspected that they moved akin to modern-day flatworms, that is, skittering around with the aid of microscopic flagella.

At top is Yorgia waggoneri. In the middle is the dickinsoniid, Epibaion axiferus. Near the bottom is Dickinsonia tenuis.
